India Govt Blocks Trading websites to stop Govt Workers trading during work time
The general administration department (GAD) has acted on reports that several officers, especially those allotted computers with internet connectivity, were found using Bombay Stock Exchange’s website bseindia.com and another portal run by a business channel that offers stock tips. In A surprise move which may set a precedent, the Maharashtra government on Friday decided to block two major market-related websites to prevent Mantralaya officers from trading.
An official with the GAD confirmed that a sizeable number of employees wasfound “indulging” in trading online during the working hours. “Some employees also use the internet facility for day trading. Since this happens during the working hours, it takes a toll on overall productivity,” the official, who wanted to remain anonymous
Previously the indian govt also banned a Adult based cartoon website Savitha bhabhi in an unrelated incident
