Delhi is proud of its T3 terminal at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), but not anymore.

Recently it was unearthed that people who came to receive their relatives have started using an air-conditioned bay near the terminal, which connects Delhi Airport Metro Express line to Indira Gandhi International Airport, as their waiting rooms because entering the visitor’s lounge would cost them Rs 80.

Another Tata Motors car Nano, belonging to a Supreme Court advocate, caught fire on Friday while it was kept in a parking lot in Delhi. The driver, however, managed to get out of the car after flames erupted.

This accident was the sixth in a series of other accidents which took place since the Nano was launched, the first being in March last. However, this recent accident is the first since Tata Motors declared the car ‘absolutely safe’ and that the previous researches declared that the car is free from any manufacturing defects.

Delhi Metro Rs.567.63 Crore Loan to JICA

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) hailing to be among the very few metros in the world incurring an operational profit is reported to have paid back an amount worth Rs 567.63 crore to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

This amount includes the loan amount for Phase I along with the interest amount accounting for Phase I and II.

“The loan was received by the DMRC in a total of 6 tranches. Phase – I comprised of 65 km and was completed in 2002 with a total completion cost of Rs 10,571 crore out of which 60% was financed by JICA”, posted a spokesperson from DMRC.

Traffic blocked in VK by MCD employees

On Friday normal life was disrupted as Safai karamcharis of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) blocked traffic in many areas, including Vasant Kunj and Mahipalpur, for more than half-an-hour. They were demanding release of their co-workers, who had been arrested for indulging in widespread rioting on Wednesday morning at Najafgarh in southwest Delhi.
